Hello Mikaty: A Handwritten Font That Elevates Small Business Branding
Choosing the Right Typeface for a Bakery Packaging Refresh
I recently worked with a local bakery looking to refresh their packaging and online presence. They wanted to feel more premium without losing their approachable charm. Typography was a key part of that shift. That’s when I discovered Hello Mikaty—a soft, handwritten font that struck the perfect balance between casual and professional. It’s not just a font; it’s a branding tool that helped bring warmth and consistency to their customer-facing materials.
What Makes Hello Mikaty Unique?
Hello Mikaty is a clean, minimalist script with a personal touch. Unlike overly ornate handwritten fonts, it maintains a level of simplicity that makes it versatile across different brand applications. The letters flow naturally, mimicking real handwriting without looking forced or messy. This makes it ideal for businesses that want to feel authentic and personable, yet polished.
It’s a script font that works well for branding materials where a human feel is important—like bakery boxes, thank-you cards, and product labels. It’s also part of the Script Amp category, which includes stylized handwritten and cursive fonts designed for visual impact rather than long-form readability.
Testing Hello Mikaty in Real Business Applications
We used Hello Mikaty on custom bakery boxes and thank-you tags. The result? A noticeable increase in customer comments about how “thoughtful” and “put together” the packaging looked. We also applied it to their Instagram story templates and website banners, creating a unified look across both print and digital platforms.
- Product labels: Perfect for small-batch jams and cookie packaging
- Business cards: Added a personal, boutique-style touch
- Menu headers: Gave a warm, artisanal feel to café menus
- Social media graphics: Helped maintain brand consistency across posts
One thing became clear: this font isn’t just cute—it’s functional. It gave the brand a consistent voice across different touchpoints without looking repetitive.
When to Use Hello Mikaty (And When to Pair It With Others)
Because of its delicate strokes and script style, Hello Mikaty works best for short phrases, titles, and accents rather than long paragraphs. It shines in logo design, product names, and packaging headers. For supporting text—like descriptions on packaging or body copy on social media—it’s best paired with a clean sans serif or a soft serif font.
For the bakery, we paired it with a simple sans serif for ingredient lists and pricing info. This contrast helped guide the customer’s eye and improved readability, especially on small product tags and mobile screens.
Readability and Practical Use Across Mediums
When using Hello Mikaty in real-world applications, it’s important to consider size and medium. For printed packaging, we made sure to use it at a minimum of 10pt to keep it legible. On digital assets like Instagram stories or online shop banners, we used it as a headline font with plenty of white space around it to avoid visual clutter.
One challenge we faced was using it on small candle jars for a side project with a candle-making client. At very small sizes, some of the delicate strokes started to disappear. Our solution? We slightly increased the tracking (letter spacing) and used it only for product names, not descriptions.
Font Features and Licensing for Commercial Use
Before committing to Hello Mikaty for client work or product packaging, always check the font’s license. Most quality commercial fonts allow use in branding, packaging, and digital assets, but it’s important to confirm whether it’s permitted for resale items or merchandise.
From a technical standpoint, this handwritten font comes with multiple file formats, standard and stylistic alternates, and basic multilingual support. These features give it flexibility for different design tools and minor customizations without needing advanced design software.
